Who We Are
Partners for a Healthy Community is a consortium of healthcare providers, educational institutions and community partners in
Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake and Sumter Counties whose mission it is to increase the supply of trained healthcare professionals
in Central Florida.
A study of healthcare workforce education needs in our five-county region found that current and projected demand for healthcare
workers in Central Florida far outstrips the training capacity of the region’s educational institutions. Key stakeholders explored
potential strategies and tactics for addressing the study results.
WORKFORCECENTRALFLORIDA has marked the healthcare industry as a priority
targeted industry. Continuing to work as a catalyst organization to foster an environment for discussions and solutions in the
industry, WCF is a lead partner in Partners for a Healthy Community.
Mission
For key stakeholders including healthcare providers, educational institutions and organizations such as WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA
to come together and explore, develop and implement strategies to address the critical healthcare workforce shortage in our region.
Two initial priorities for addressing current capacity constraints were identified 1) Increasing the number of qualified healthcare
faculty and 2) Expanding and maximizing utilization of clinical education opportunities. The Partners for a Healthy Community was
established to be the vehicle for action.
